Sex and Bacon

Why I Love Things That Are Very, Very, Bad For Me

Sarah Katherine Lewis

February 2009

Sex and Bacon

I was thoroughly delighted when I came to read this book this month. After last month's nightmare of a book, I was relieved to encounter a composition that would not leave me wanting to pull my bleeding eyes out of my head.

Sarah Lewis, stripper and porn star, is witty and intelligent when it comes to engaging the five senses of sight, touch, smell, taste and of course smell. Miss Lewis has completed a masterpiece of straightforward and delightful vignettes that compose one larger overall story. You not only learn things in this book but you feel like you are there. She educates you on how to properly make fried chicken, but then at the same time, she teaches you about her points of fetish, but also goes so far as to talk about Britney Spears and eating disorders.

She imposes a more positive view on sexual desire. She highlights the strengths and weakness of women. She point blank tells you to fuck off when it comes to how the media deals with Britney Spears!

I highly recommend that you make her Fried Chicken recipe that she details in the chapter entitled "Fried Chicken Interlude: Picnic Style". Seriously, I took the time to make the damn recipe and was absolutely titillated with the results. It was the best dinner that I had made for myself in a really, really long time. It was as if she was right there in the kitchen manifesting her sexy self in my kitchen!

The funny thing about all this is that this book didn't irate me like many books do. I found myself taking a bath every night and spending thirty minutes soaking in the tub just so I could get my daily dose of Sex and Bacon. I enjoyed this book so much that I found myself going into the store and smelling random ass things like pumpkin pie, fruit and fresh garlic. I wanted to engage my senses as she had done in her articulately writing.

This book was so well written that it also made me terribly hot to trot! Seriously, I found myself having more dreams about food and sex then I ever had. For crap's sake I actually thought of a few funny burlesque acts involving food!

Lastly, her lingering words left quite the impression and I found that my body image was changing. Yes I admit it, I started my New Year's diet like everyone else, but I found that I could enjoy my body much more and that it was okay to be swanky, sassy and yet if I wanted to wear my hot ass jeans that make my ass look good, I would wear them! I knew that I would be going home to my kitchen and making myself a meal that I would love to eat and I would enjoy eating.

THIS IS A MUST FUCKING READ FOR ANYONE! This is a book that you should store on your cookbook shelf. When you read it, mark the pages of the recipes. Enjoy inviting people over again and have an orgasmic time with food by cooking good food that you can't get enough of just like a passionate night with a lover!
